From Nothing to Something — The Story of Panthera
Panthera was built on a simple truth: sometimes the life you’re told to build isn’t the one you’re meant to live.
Before Panthera existed, Cody was working a steady 8–5 job as a mechanic, following the traditional path—a secure trade, stable income, and pension at the end. It was the “right” plan, but it never felt like the right fit.
Boxing did.
Through years in the sport, Cody built not only skill, but also a strong reputation within the local fitness community. That reputation created opportunities—first training individual clients, then leading boxing classes with more than 50 participants. Coaching provided a sense of purpose unlike anything he had experienced before and revealed what was possible through movement, connection, and community.
Then everything changed.
When COVID hit, Cody was laid off from his job. What could have been a setback became a turning point. With time to reflect and no clear roadmap ahead, he began building a vision for something bigger.
He continued developing his coaching skills at TFA, refining his approach to leadership, movement, and community. Around the same time, Cody stepped away from competitive boxing and began pursuing podium finishes in triathlon. As the world reopened and the opportunity came to return to his former job, he made a decision that would define everything that followed:
He walked away.
No guarantees. No safety net. Just belief.
Soon after, Cody connected with Transform Sports, where Adam Geric became a mentor and encouraged him to step into new challenges, including triathlon coaching and competition. During this period, Cody was building from the ground up—coaching clients, training, competing, and doing whatever it took to move forward. It wasn’t easy, and it certainly wasn’t lucrative, but he believed he was building toward something meaningful.
Panthera started small.
Group classes with inconsistent attendance. Some days, no one showed up. There were moments of doubt, plenty of trial and error, and constant learning—how to coach better, communicate more effectively, and create something people genuinely wanted to be part of. Drawing on experience, relationships, and a growing reputation, momentum slowly began to build.
And then it started to grow.
One class became many. A handful of clients became a thriving community. What began as an idea turned into something real.
Today, Panthera offers daily classes, supports more than 250 members, and is powered by a dedicated team of coaches. And the journey continues—still pushing, still evolving, still building.
Panthera is more than a gym. It is a reflection of what can happen when someone takes a risk on themselves, chooses purpose over comfort, and commits to building something from nothing.
This is Panthera.
